Peace on earth, Presents under the tree, Pacifiers and Poo

I know it's almost July, but it's never too early to start thinking about the good ol' Christmas list, right? Here's what's on ours:

Leg Lamp

Stocking Full of Oranges

Chocolate Santa

And... Diapers!

And lots of 'em. We're expecting a baby right around the holidays and will be sure to put these to good use. Maybe we should ask Santa for some cold, hard cash instead. It seems that December is going to be an expensive month at our house for the next oh, 18 years. But we're thrilled! And scared. But mostly thrilled.

The weather wasn't the only thing that was insanely hot

For Zach's 30th birthday earlier this year, I surprised him with a gift I'm sure every steak-eating, beer-drinking, sports-loving, Costco-clothes-wearing heterosexual male would love: George Michael concert tickets.

This weekend we trekked to Phoenix (it was only 101 degrees at midnight) for the blessed event to see one of Zach's all-time favorites perform live. George put on a fantastic show and looked better than ever at 45 (my childhood crush is apparently still alive and kickin'--especially when GM appeared in his cop outfit for his rousing rendition of "Let's Go Outside").

"I'm never gonna dance again..."

We danced to every song and sang along with our fellow concert-goers (99% of whom were either 40-something females or gay couples--we fit right in) and Z was able to walk away with a t-shirt featuring the aviator glasses-clad singer himself that I'm certain he'll be wearing to every major social event this summer.

Enjoy George's performance of Careless Whisper, we did and have been singing it since we got home.

Overheard: Family Values

Girl 1: All I really wanted was for someone to bring those Tootsie Rolls to our meeting.

Girl 2: I'm on it. I respond well to guilt trips; my parents are divorced.

Flashback Friday: Let's be honest, I just liked the outfit

This is as close as I ever came to holding some sort of profession in the medical field. As a child, I had thought about being a nurse just like my mom (who is wearing her nurse hat here), but when I realized that even seeing a paper cut made me nauseous I realized that it probably wasn't the best career choice for me.

Monday Lovely: Creamies

I'm pretty sure there's nothing better on a warm summer day (and thank goodness that we are finally experiencing warm summer days here in the previously rain-soaked, 50-degrees-in-June-Utah) than a delicious ice cream.

We bought a case of these at Costco and I've eaten almost the entire thing by myself in the span of about two weeks. Creamies are made right here in this Pretty Great State and just may be the sweetest thing to come out of Utah next to Marie Osmond, the Dancing With the Stars girl, the American Idol boy and Mark Koelbel's hair.

Overheard: Agency Meeting, Fiber Edition

Account manager: Our new client makes a weight-loss ingredient, it's really cool, kind of a high-tech fiber supplement.

Agency partner: Speaking of fiber, I had one of those FiberOne bars.

Account manager: What did you think of it?

Agency partner: It gave me instant farts.

Agency manager: Oh, um, well, you can try this one. It doesn't cause any side effects.

Office manager: But we'll have to make him work outside. Just in case.

Monday Lovely: Atherton

I am by no means a music expert (although I do pride myself on the incredible singing abilities I demonstrate while driving alone in my car) but even I recognize a great album when I hear it.

We play Atherton's Skyline Motel at nearly every barbecue we throw and it's so perfect at providing an excellent backdrop to warm summer nights spent with friends.

Plus, Zach and I are lucky enough to count the talented singer/songwriter/rockstar extraordinaire Ryan Tanner as one of our very dear friends. And you had better believe we namedrop every chance we get.
